@25 A linux server is on the roadmap for Sametime, but will not be available with Sametime 7.5.

It's a comment on Ed's Blog in response to this posting, I'm surprised more people didn't pounce on it as really good news. Especially with Microsoft's Server Licensing requiring a CAL for every client that hits software running on their server, whether it be Sametime, notes or whatever.

I like the idea of a Linux Server for no other reason than it makes it really easy for IBM to make a prebuilt VMware for demos etc. without having to worry about MS licenses.

Gravatar Image1 - Wicked cool - the QP guys were saying the same thing about an upcoming version of QuickPlace at Lotusphere.

Gravatar Image2 - hate to sound like the cynical bastard that I am (especially since it's not college football season anymore!), but I'll believe a linux server for Sametime and QP when it's released.
Otherwise, haven't we heard this before?
