VMWare Player - Sweeet

Category
Volker picks up on VMware making available the VMWare Player, I have to say this is a smart marketing move and also nice for anyone techy. You'll still need VMWare Workstation or one of the other VMWare products to build the images, but now you can build images that anyone can use, even those without a VMWare License. Obviously you can't just start distributing images with Windows, but if you have products that run on Linux, you can now start distributing fully enabled and configured and more importantly "tuned" demo environments. I would expect to see a lot more pre-configured demo environments being available in the next few months. Can we expect to see Microsoft Virtual PC for free in the next few months as a response, or at least bundled as free ?
