Joe Litton gave some great advice...

Category
Hurricane Katrina - Looking VERY bad for Louisiana and others, I imagine Joe isn't a meteorologist, but he managed to give the advice that was needed way back in August!

If you happen to be anywhere in Katrina's expected path, please heed the many warnings and evacuate NOW while there's time.

Does make you wonder what officials were thinking...

Gravatar Image1 - Makes me wonder what all these people were thinking... not just the government (local/state/feds) was thinking.

Gravatar Image2 - I know what the officials were thinking.

"whoooooooosh" - the sound of the sea.
"Oh - nice Horse!"

Gravatar Image3 - I haven't even been in Florida 2 years yet, but already I've learned of way too many folks who ignore the very clear warnings to evacuate when a nasty storm is coming. In the case of New Orleans, it was looking worse than anything I've seen in my short time here. I think New Orleans got EXTREMELY lucky last year when Hurricane Ivan veered east; the predictions then were that Ivan could have basically eliminated New Orleans. I thought that would have been the wake-up call for the area. There were certainly many folks who just didn't have the means to evacuate, but I was amazed with the New Orleans situation to see reports of so many who DID have the option to leave, and still refused to do so. And even worse was Bush claiming that no one had any idea that the levees might fail. Sheesh.
