March of the Penguins

Category
March of the Peguins is not a spin-off from Batman it's a full length documentary outlining the remarkable journey that thousands of Emperor penguins perform each year. It's hard to believe you can sit still for 84 minutes watching some penguins in snow, but this film shows it's possible even for me.

I enjoyed this film, the story of the penguins is pretty amazing, although I do dislike the way in which the director tries to put human emotions onto the Penguins. How he truly know that the penguin is mourning or happy? Just because there are violins and french horns playing does not have to mean it's sad. With that said though, the photography is great, the story fascinating and the baby penguins look cute enough to take home. I give it 4 out of 5. This is from teh same team that did Winged Migration, if you enjoyed that you'll also like this.

Gravatar Image1 - Thanks for the tip. Will be a nice afternoon with my kids...

Gravatar Image2 - I agree. You should never anthromorphize penguins. They HATE it when you do that!

Gravatar Image3 - In the Falklands I was told that the penguins would watch the jets fly in. As the jets went over their heads they would fall backwards and not be able to get up.
Our platoon was to walk out to an area and help all these penguins stand up.
So out we marches and when we got there they were all standing. We were told that another platoon must have got there before us.
It was some time later that I found out it was all a joke.
