A couple of comments in this article Lotus Collaboration Moves Deeper Into Real-Time got me asking, how has IBM managed to become a late entry into the presence awareness area for journalists? IBM/Lotus has been speaking about it for years, maybe this is an example of how for journalists, a picture is worth a thousand words?
Then I also read on Ed's blog a comment by Simon Barratt about a slide he had just seen that shows Microsoft as having 70+% of the presence awaresness share, with IBM holding a wopping 7%, I would like to know more about this slide and what the criteria were for it etc.

Frankly, it is high time IBM got into the real-time collaboration game.
IBM has been relatively silent on the presence-driven front. As that situation changes, they will no doubt become more of a threat to both their traditional and non-traditional competitors, especially among their (often loyal) installed base.
