Forget Tivo2Go

and for me what has been a buggy program. It is possible to just access your Tivo directly with a browser! Using the following url:

https://your_tivo_ip/nowplaying/index.html

use tivo as the username and your media access key as your password.

You can dowload the movies, and see what's on you're Tivo. One caveat is that the download from Tivo is still hideously slow... I think the problem is with the the USB 1.1 sockets in the Tivo and not the network card.

Gravatar Image1 - USB ? No wonder. Get a 9th Tee Cachecard - 100mb/s wired ethernet. A gig - an hour worth of show - in 10-20 minutes.. Dont even try wireless...

Oh - and I use Ty Studio on my old series one tivo for downloading programs - works fine and is free..

Gravatar Image2 - Being a Mac person, I've had to use this exclusively. Tivo still hasn't updated the Tivo Desktop for Mac yet. Whoo.

As for the transfer speeds, it's probably slower than it should be. I get about 500k/s from my Tivo on a 100mb/s port on my switch to my Powerbook on the wireless.
