Jabber, Inc. Delivers New Interoperability and Collaboration Hooks in 4.1 Release Especially interesting is:
Optional in the new 4.1 release is a native Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) stack and SIP for Instant Messaging and Presence Leveraging Extensions (SIMPLE) gateway that allows Jabber XCP and Jabber IM Advanced users to seamlessly communicate with users of SIP/SIMPLE-based systems. The initial release of the gateway has been extensively tested with IBM's Lotus IM product.

Gravatar Image1 - Would that allow to get Online awareness in the Notes inbox for a user registered with jabber (or one of the protocol plug-ins)? That would be WAY cool.
stw

Gravatar Image2 - I'm not sure it will. As this connection will be through SIP, the user has to be resolved in a different way with a different call to the Sametime Reslover in the code, by identifying the name as an external user, I am not sure that Note implemented this feature, I am guessing they didn't.

Gravatar Image3 - It is baby steps of progress.
