OpenNTF

Category
I don't know if IBM has ever publicly thanked the folks that started OpenNTF, but they really should, even with something as simple as, please everyone take a moment to applaud the folks at OpenNTF during opening session at Lotusphere or something. There is a posting today on Bruce Elgort's site (OpenNTF Download Stats) with the download stats. It wasn't the stats that impressed me, but how I didn't realise how much stuff was up there now.

IBM Should thank these guys publicly when ever and where ever they can, not because it's good for people like Bruce's ego, but it's a hell of a demonstration of an active, committed Domino Community. Remember the Nifty Fifty? Well most of these apps blow their socks off. Great job folks!

Thanks for your very kind words. OpenNTF wouldn't have succeeded without the contributions and support from the Lotus Notes/Domino community. It seems like yesterday when Nathan posted in the LDD forum about starting NotesoSS. In fact, OpenNTF's 3rd birthday is this month.

On the topic of IBM, Ed Brill and Alan Lepofsky have both publicly acknowledged some of our successes and are very supportive of our work. It would be nice to have some support in the form of some hardware and/or licensing for the site and hopefully that will come soon. Also, some linkages from LDD would be nice as well.

Special thanks should go out to Anil Vartak and Vince Schuurman. These guys keep the site going and are continuously improving the features it offers.

Be sure to stop by the OpenNTF booth at Lotusphere 2005. We look forward to showing the communities efforts to the crowds. Maybe your booth will be next to ours

Warm regards,

Bruce

Thanks for your support.
Since OpenNTF is all about getting people involved we would love to hear from anyone with ideas to improve the site so we can get more people participating in the projects.
Anil is currently working on a new UI for PMT so we would especially appreciate feedback regarding navigation etc.

Vince
