It's a funny old world. This week I saw a Kohl's commercial on TV with Jennifer Dempster as their spokesperson.. This in itself isn't so strange, as Jennifer Dempster has been doing things like infomercials and Bodyshaping on ESPN2 for quite a few years. About 8 years ago she was my co presenter for a few trade shows, I think we used her at Comdex Spring in Atlanta, Network World in NYC and one other show. It's safe to say that Jennifer knew pretty much nothing about computers, but the young men in the crowds appeared to appreciate her. Seeing her on TV got me thinking about those shows and the other people involved, so blow me down when two days later I'm sitting at my customers in New Jersey and they have a fire drill, as I'm leaving the building I bump into none other but one of the other Loti who helped with the trade shows, who I hadn't seen in about 5 years. I wonder now, if I hadn't seen Jennifer on the commercial, and didn't have the other folks in my head, would I have noticed him in the corridor?
When I used to travel a lot with work, I'd always bump into other people I knew in executive lounges on the other side of the world, which I suppose just goes to show how small the world really is becoming.
