50 years ago today, the equivalent of the iPod came out, the very first transistor radio, the Regency TR-1. A huge leap forward in battery consumption and physical size. The world of Electronics has not been the same since. TVs are instantly on, and you don't see that gentle glow from the back of the the Hi-Fi anymore, but it's still progress.
