Am I missing something?

Category
This is a statement President Bush made last night in the Presidential debate about sanctions and Saddam Hussein (by the way a very boring debate):
We tried diplomacy. We did our best. He was hoping to turn a blind eye. And, yes, he would have been stronger had we not dealt with him. He had the capability of making weapons, and he would have made weapons.
The reason I ask am I missing someting is that it looks like President Bush has missed a few key facts since invading Iraq, they being that no weapons of mass destruction have been found, and no significant tools for building said weapons have been found, so how can he argue the sanctions and inspections weren't working? I guess the more you keep telling the same lie, the more people will believe it?

Gravatar Image1 - On the day that the rest of the developed world started to implement the Kyoto agreement and the world's biggest polluter didn't then the I think the whole of the US missed something.

Gravatar Image2 - Hindsight being 20/20, makes Bush a liar? I don't get it.
When I saw Bush on TV for the Presidential debate, he looked like a guy who'd just worked another hard 12 hour day. I will gladly give him another term.

Gravatar Image3 - It's not hindsight that makes him a liar, it's that he now continues pushing the same incorrect claim, that's what makes him a liar. The UN inspector documents prior to the war, which many claimed to be correct, turned out to be correct.
