Here's a good one I came across recently with a customer

Category
Install Sametime 3.1, Install the Fixpack 1. Start the server, start a meeting in a browser, when you get a security warning don't just ignore it, look at it, and you'll see this:

Notice the date, the certificate expired in Dec 2003, not too sharp.

There is a fix, you have to call Lotus Support and get them to send you resigned JAR files, and replace the existing ones on your server with new ones.

For most people the fact they have expired isn't really an issues as they tend to trust the IBM certificate, for other companies this can stop deployment until it is resolved.

Gravatar Image1 - If you are using the MS JVM this is less of an issue as for some reason the expired certificate issue is ignored (great security). If you are using the Sun JVM you will get a warning stating that the certificate is not valid. We worked for several weeks with IBM to get a fix... and now the certificate is due to expire on 16 December 2004... hardly an improvement in my view.

Gravatar Image2 - Perhaps they'll claim that as a new feature in Sametime 7.0 to keep up with the other products.
