2006, what the hell I am talking about that for? Well you have to plan ahead. Back in 2002 I ran a WorldCup Pool for my friends it was called www.worldcuppool.com, it was a great Domino website with integrated Sametime awareness, the winner was none other that Art Fontaine, who won a huge $750 bucks, all with never having watched a game of football on tv before. Anyway, I had registered WorldcupPool.com with network solutions and if you know network solutions you know they remind you to renew your domain approx 8 months before it expires! So you learn to ignore them. Well needless to say I ignored them for too long and some guy in Holland bought it (bas#$rd), so I've been looking for new domains to use in 2006, here is what I've come up with so far, let me know which you think is better:

www.vvorldcup.com - note that is not a W but a V V, I like this one as most people would type it incorrectly, a side note www.vvindows.com is gone
www.worldcupde.com - Good for 2006 as it's in Germany, but no other year
www.worldcup-de.com

6 - Oh.. that reminds me... probably not best to use World in the name if you want to attact US participants... they are likely to get it confused with other internationally renowned "world" sporting events like the World Series of Baseball and Cart and may come to the conclusion that America has annexed Germany.

7 - In response to Simon. I have to say, that the last WorldCup pool was won by a Yank, and to be honest I started the whole thing in 1998 in an effort to get my colleagues at work (in the US) interested in the event so that I could have people to skip out of work with to watch the games. I'm glad to say that it worked, the fact that the US team did fairly well in the 2002 World Cup also didn't do any harm to building interest.

So the word "World" stays there, but I did like www.zeeWorldCup.com , I wonder if dontmentionthewar.com is taken

8 - You are right of course but between you and me the less our transatlantic friends care about football (and you know which one I mean) then so much the better because... well... if they decided they wanted to win it then within a few years and with a gene pool of several hundred million to choose from they probably would!
