Don't buy a Samsung cell phone

Category
to be specific, the Samsung N400, I'd had this phone for over a year and it finally got to the point where I could stand it no more. Just a few of the things wrong with this phone were:
  • Constant hanging, would have to remove the battery after making a call for it to come back to life
  • All the receptions bars would be displayed, but it wouldn't make or receive calls, although it was good enough to let me know someone had left a message
  • The key guard, could be removed by holding down one of the exposed keys, so the whole point of a key guard would be defeated if it was in your pocket, and you'd find yourself connected to someone else's phone
  • It would get really hot when being used
  • If I was lucky the battery would last through the day

Fortunately when I got the phone I purchased the replacement warranty, so was able to exchange the phone for a different model. Having switched phones it leads me to next big gripe about cell phones. Why can't the name and address book be populated across the web? This is the 3rd phone I've had that has internet connectivity, but the only way to move names and numbers across from my old phone is either to do it manually or purchase some third party software that synchs with your PC. Surely it can't be that hard for someone to make a cell phone that synchs with a central database somewhere?

Gravatar Image1 - Should be able to store all contacts onto the SIM card chip and read them into the new phone...that works for most GSM-based phones (not Sprint).
