Happy Valentine's Day

Category
Yep it's here again, Valentine's Day. For those who wonder, Valentine's day is celebrated here in the US and in the UK, and I'm sure in many other places too, but there are differences. I know when I lived here as a teenager, I was very surprised at how many cards my brother and I got, here in the US the tradition of Valentine's day is to just send cards to everyone you know, whereas in England the tradition is only send a card to someone you "love", and even then we do it a little differently.

For example cards you send in England can be anonymous cards (viewed as stalking over here), to let someone know they have a secret admirer, this is to be expected and not considered strange at all, so lots of school boy crushes on those special girls would involve trips to other towns to send cards.

Valentines day in England is also one of those day when women can propose to men, the other day is February 29th, so two opportunities for women to get their man this year, and who says women's rights haven't come a long way?

May you feel the love today...
