Calendar Girls

Category
Went to see Calendar Girls last night, my folks have been on at me for close to a year to see it so I finally got around to making the time. It's actually quite a sweet film, some of the sessions the W.I. were doing in the movie reminded me of some of the sessions my Mum used to tell us about when we were kids, although my Mum was a member of the National Housewives Register not the W.I. I have no idea what the difference is between them, but they both seem very secret, sexist societies where they drink and talk about men, knitting and such things (I'll never hear the end of that one).

I'd give the movie a 4 out of 5, if you're offended by nudity then although there is about 2 seconds in total in this film, you're probably too prudish to watch it, but if you realise that you can see a breast any old weekend on TV now then you'll probable enjoy the humour. There's a nice explanation as to where Sunflowers get their name that I never realised add to that some great scenery shots of Yorkshire (I think they shot the movie on the 2 days a year it doesn't rain there) and you have a nice movie that's fun.

To the women sitting behind me in the cinema I would like to say this, there is no need to go "ah look at that cute house" or "how quaint they have milk delivered" etc. everytime the milk is picked up off the front step, or everytime they show a house, and yes, Morris Men are for real.
