Adjusting to the 50 degree temperature drop...

Category
I got back from Florida last night to a welcoming New England temperature, so I had to change out of my T-shirt pretty sharpish. Lotusphere seemed to be a good show for us, meeting lots of old friends and potential customers. Obviously if we close them will prove if the show was truly worth while.

Meeting some of our customers in person for the first time was probably one of the nicest things of the whole event (yes Rob even you!), the electric shock game provided some great entertainment on the stand, although I never used it in conjunction with alcohol, I think I may take it to my friends Superbowl party this weekend.

Talking of the superbowl, the New England Pats are in the finals, so every news program seems to think that the lead up to the Superbowl is the lead story, sorry but that is not news. I was at a customers today and they were having a lunchtime superbowl party, sadly I wasn't wearing the required Red, White and Blue colours so could not get access.

When I left the customers site, I took a side visit on the way home to the AT&T Wireless store, and got the RIM setup with the unlimited $49.99 a month data plan, the device will still act as a phone, but would cost some crazy amount like 60 cents a minute, so I wont be telling anyone the number for it. So far I have not got it working for e-mail. The Blackberry system of setting up an account seems to have got screwed up, and when I called the number on the site for help it took me to AT&T who after speaking to them for about 45 mins, then told me I should call blackberry, which I then called to find out I had missed their support line by about 2 minutes, so now have to wait until Monday to try and get email access working. At least this gives me the weekend to get Sametime Everyplace working again, then I can start demoing our "award winning" bots, don't worry I won't call them award winning all the time

Other news since I got back? I have decided to move, it was something I was trying to decide whether to do or not over Lotusphere as I had looked at a place a few days before going down, but come March 1st I will be living up in New Hampshire, it's closer to work and it's also a place where I will be allowed a dog, plus in the summer it's near some great hiking, camping and fishing spots which are all things I enjoy to do to relax. I've been in my current place for quite a while, in fact I think it's the longest I have lived in a single place since I left home, so I'm, quite looking forward to the change. Anyone have a big truck I can borrow?

Moving will also give me an opportunity to get rid of some of the crap I seem to keep for no good reason, sure some stuff is sentimental stuff that has no other value apart from that, but I'm also a bit of a pack rat so it will be good to throw out stuff I never use, I will probably try and throw out some of the sentimental stuff too, seriously, what do I need Notes Reporter freebies for, and I do really still need my OS/2 Disks? At least the Presidential election fiasco has now left New Hampshire so I wont have to put up with that, and then in the first couple of weeks of April my sister and her family are coming over as my first guests.
