Superman!

QuickImage Category
So my last involvement with Superman was working on the the Notes R5 launch for Lotus. It pretty much involved travelling the world evangelising about Notes R5, so not a very hard job, although presenting at the R5 launch in Portugal with a Superman costume on under my suit was an interesting experience.

Yesterday I had involvement with Superman again at the Six Flags in Springfield, Massachusetts. Although the queue took a while (standing in line for Americans) it was worth it. Being a portly chap one of the things we know is that there is a little known secret that the front seats in the roller coaster have bigger seat belts and more space, also they have the best vantage point for scaring the do do out of you.

Now for me I thought this was fantastic, as I like the idea of feeling like I am falling or about to get thrown out of the roller coaster, sadly for the person I was with this added a whole new level of fear to the ride, fortunately I was very considerate and laughed even harder at seeing this. So we got on the ride, and after watching my roller coaster buddy check their belt, and try forcing down the safety bar about 50 times we started to get pulled up toward the top where the free fall starts. Half way up towards the start I hear "I WANT TO GET OFF", and I being the considerate soul that I am, treated it the best way I could, yes I start laughing even harder.

For anyone that has not been on one of the more recent roller coasters like "The Big One" in Blackpool or "Superman" in Six Flags, when you get to the top and the car starts going forward, and forward and then more forward till you actually feel like you are falling out of the car is a fantastic feeling. I also noticed another feeling, yes that is the pain that comes from the person next to you grabbing your arm with their nails and squeezing harder and harder as if this in some way will help them, so between the pain and the laughter it really was a great ride, for anyone that likes thrill rides I would highly recommend it, but make sure you have heavily padded clothes on if you go with someone that gets nervous!
