Remember the IBM ad for trying to find a product manual?

QuickImage Category
A few years ago I purchased an IBM wireless phone, the IBM 3855. Today I need the manual as I want to store some numbers in it and change a few of the options.

I probably disposed of the manual with the box, so remembering the IBM TV commercial where the Dad didn't have the instructions on how to build the bike for his daugther, I made the assumption that IBM would have followed it's own advice and went hunting on the IBM website for a PDF version of the manual.

As you might have guessed I found nothing, I couldn't even find information on the site that IBM even sold telephones!

So if anyone feels up to the challenge, I'm after the PDF manual for the IBM 3855 wireless phone.

On a side note, the phone has never been very good, the Caller ID display is not lit and is hard to read even in good light, and call quality was always poor.

Update: I found the box with the manual, I should have known better really as I am such a pack rat. So no need for the PDF anymore, but that's no excuse for not having it up there.

Gravatar Image1 - I could use info from that manual. How do you reset the tone dialing? I have a similar phone and I now manually set for tone before each dial--what a pain. There must be a way to reset it for tone only dialing. Got any help?

Gravatar Image2 - There is a switch on the back of the "UFO" bit. It sets it to tone or dial, if it forgets, I found the best bet is unplug the power, put the switch in the right position and then power it back on, make sure the handet is in it's cradle during this process.
