Spectacular day

QuickImage Category
Yesterday I started of by saying it was special day, it ended up as a spectacular day, the July 4th fireworks were amazing, Washington Cabral, John Barrow, Thomas Gumz and myself had a fantastic spot on the Cambridge side of the Charles River near a sound tower, and no obstructions, truly fantastic. There's something about a live orchestra with fireworks that really makes the hair on the back of your neck standup, I played violin in the National UK Scout and Guide Orchestra many years ago when I was 15, we played once with some fireworks, and did the 1812 with a guy in percussion with a starters pistol I thought that was pretty good at the time, I can only imagine how it must feel playing with real cannons and the amazing fireworks in Boston last night. Most impressive firework the smiley face, yes they had an emoticon firework! Pretty amazing control for an explosion. Here's a fuzzy unedited picture I managed to take.

Today I went with John Barrow (fellow author on the Sametime Redbook, from PwC in the UK) to the beach at Manchester by Sea, I'm not a big fan of the beach, and don't really like the hot weather, but I was dog sitting for a friend, and I love dogs, and I like nothing more than making them fetch stuff, so it ended up not being a bad day. A friend showed us Ray Ozzie's house up there, but to be honest I don't think either of us really cared too much as we can't afford to live there
